Celebrate Black Teachers and Students
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Every year, the teachers in my wing pull our money together to provide warm and cold meals for those students who arrive at school after breakfast is served. It is unfortunate that so many of my students look forward to school only for the two solid meals provided. What happens if a needy student arrives late? I'll tell you what happens. They are hungry until lunch. How productive is a hungry child? Again, I'll tell you, not productive at all. They often want to sleep the morning away. This is where you can help.
They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
This project will provide oatmeal, cereal bars, snacks, and some staple meals that are easily cooked. I am requesting noodles and bottled waters, items I know they like. They will be stored in containers and available when needed.
Snacks like crackers, chips, and candy are also being requested. I have two students that are diabetic, and they both like protein drinks without much sugar. Water and other drinks will be given out as requested. Thank you in advance for your donation.
