Intro

• Though Goku and friends had thwarted Dr. Myuu's evil ambitions, the day had yet to be saved.

  Anomalies were still occurring across all regions of the globe.

• Our heroes hastily sought the Dragon Balls to rectify the crisis.

  Unfortunately, their efforts uncovered yet another problem.

• Bulma: "Cracks... in the Dragon Balls?"
• Bulma: "This is a first."
• Chi-Chi: "This won't end well. I can feel it already."
• Pan (GT): "Aw, you worry too much, Grandma."
• Pan (GT): "These are the Dragon Balls we're talking about. They exist for GOOD."
• Goku (GT): "How about we skip the speculation and summon Shenron?"
• Goku (GT): "If anyone knows what's going on, it'll be him."
• Trunks (GT): "Goku's right."
• Trunks (GT): "Plus, fixing Earth takes priority. We need to wish Krillin and everyone else who died back, pronto!"
• Goku (GT): "Then it's settled. Come out, Shenron!"
• Pan (GT): "Wh- What's THAT?!"
• Goku (GT): "The hell are you?!"
• Black Smoke Shenron: "Gwa ha ha ha!"
• Black Smoke Shenron: "Thanks for busting me out. Real estate's scarce in there."
• Bulma: "Uh... This CAN'T be right."
• Bulma: "Is it just me or does this dragon seem a little... lowbrow?"
• Black Smoke Shenron: "The fresh air outside is so delicious! I feel centuries younger!"
• Black Smoke Shenron: "I don't know about you, but I'm raring to break stuff!"
• Pan (GT): "Aren't you supposed to say "State your wish" or something?"
• Pan (GT): "It's hard to do this when you change the format on us."
• Black Smoke Shenron: "What? Wishes? I have no intention of fulfilling any wishes!"
• Pan (GT): "Huh...?"
• Black Smoke Shenron: "Gwa ha ha ha!"
• Pan (GT): "Our hard work collecting the Dragon Balls just went out the window!"
• Bulma: "Does anyone have a clue what's going on?"
• Goku (GT): "The whole world's been doused with an evil Ki."
• King Kai: "Listen to me, Goku! That's no Shenron!"
• Goku (GT): "King Kai? You know what's up?"
• Goku (GT): "If you know something, let's hear it!"
• King Kai: "Allow me to start from the beginning. Ahem..."
• Elder Kai: "MINCE FOR BRAINS!"
• Goku (GT): "Eep! E-Elder Kai, that you?"
• Elder Kai: "Darn tootin' it is! I've told you time and again-- use the Dragon Balls to fix every problem that rolls your way..."
• Elder Kai: "...and you'll throw the natural balance outta whack!"
• Kibito Kai: "Great Ancestor, please calm yourself..."
• Elder Kai: "Calm's the last thing I can be when faced with a cosmic crisis! Listen up, Goku!"
• Elder Kai: "Leave those dragons to their dark devices and Earth-- no, the UNIVERSE as we know it-- is doomed!"
• Goku (GT): "You're referring to the Shenron knockoffs from earlier?"
• Elder Kai: "The very ones. They're karma incarnate! Your overuse of the Dragon Balls created those abominations!"
• A shocking truth had come to light regarding the Dragon Balls.

  Every wish the beloved orbs of legend granted consumed plus energy while giving birth to minus energy.

• Cleansing this negative energy required the Dragon Balls to be left alone for a period of no less than one hundred years. However, Goku and friends had gone well over the limit in a span of mere decades.
• This surplus of minus energy could no longer be contained by the Dragon Balls, resulting in the creation of the corrupted entities seen earlier-- the Shadow Dragons!
• Goku (GT): "Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't we just kick their reptilian behinds?"
• Goku (GT): "You know, take back the Dragon Balls and be on our merry way? That logic seems pretty sound to me!"
• Bulma: "Do you even understand the gravity of the situation?"
• Bulma: "Always punching your way out of problems to solve them..."
• Goku (GT): "Wish me luck, gang!"
• And so, Goku departed with a mischievous Pan and the Dragon Radar-infused Giru in tow.

  Their new mission to save the Earth from the threat of the seven Shadow Dragons had begun!

Before Boss

• Giru: "Dragon Ball detected! Dragon Ball detected!"
• Giru: "Proximity: close!"
• Haze Shenron: "Come to die, have you, Goku?"
• Haze Shenron: "I've been waiting for you."
• Pan (GT): "Look! Over there!"
• Goku (GT): "It's the Two-Star Ball!"
• Haze Shenron: "They call me Haze Shenron!"
• Haze Shenron: "Welcome to your final resting place!"
• Goku (GT): "I take it you're one of those beings born from minus energy-- a Shadow Dragon, right?"
• Haze Shenron: "Here's a question. Do you remember a child by the name of Upa?"
• Goku (GT): "Upa?!"
• Haze Shenron: "You used the Dragon Balls to wish back the boy's father, did you not?"
• Haze Shenron: "The minus energy released from that wish created-- yes-- ME!"
• Goku (GT): "No way... Bringing back Upa's dad made you?"
• Goku (GT): "In that case, this is one loose end I gotta tie up!"
• Haze Shenron: "I assure you, I'm more than a mere "loose end," for I am the strongest Shadow Dragon!"
• Haze Shenron: "Look on in awe and teror as I reveal my true power!"

Outro

• Haze Shenron's toxic offensive kept Goku's party at bay initially, but not for long. Our heroes ultimately triumphed, acquiring the Two-Star Ball.
• Pan (GT): "Right on!"
• Pan (GT): "We got our first Dragon Ball!"
• There were still six Shadow Dragons left to defeat, however.

  The journey to defeat these new nemeses and fix the damaged planet had only just begun.
