Deacon Albert Edward Deacon, 89, Overland Park, a former Overland Park city councilman, died July 19, 1991, at the University of Kansas Medical Mr. Deacon was a chemical with the Spencer Chemical Co. in Pittsburg, and Kansas City and also worked for the Gulf Chemical Co. before he retired.

Later he worked for the Kansas Department of Health. He was a member of the Kansas Society of Professional Engineers. He was an Overland Park planning commissioner and a city councilman during the 1960s. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin and member of Zeta Psi fraternity. He was a was Church.

Flores, 68, Liberty, owner of Kodiak Contractors, died July 18, 1991, at the Liberty Hospital. Mr. Flores had owned the business since 1983. He was president of the Kansas City Hispanic Association Con- Jesse J. Flores tractors Enterprise and a director of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Greater Kansas City.

He was an associate member of the Minority Contractors Association of Greater Kansas City. He was a member of Local 1594 of the Painters Union. Mr. Flores was a former director of Coronado Savings Loan in Kansas City, Kan. He was a member of St.

James Catholic Church, Liberty. He was a Navy veteran of World War Il and a lifelong area resident. Survivors include his wife. Frances I. Flores of the home; three sons.

Rosa L. Gloor Rosa L. Gloor, 104, died June 29, 1991, in the Villa St. Joseph, 11901 Rosewood Overland Park, where she lived. Mrs.

Gloor was born Dec. 24, 1886, in Switzerland and lived in Columbus, and Portland, before she moved to this area in 1989. She was a member of the Valley Community Presbyterian Church, Portland. Survivors include four sons. Walter Gloor.

Sharpe, 49, Overland Park, an associate dean of the University of Kansas, died July 17, 1991, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Mr. Sharpe was associate dean of continuing education at KU for two years. Earlier he was an associate dean at California State University Fullerton. He received a doctorate in higher education from Indiana University in 1987, and did postgraduate work at the Institute of Lifelong Education at Harvard University.

He received a citizens' award for outstanding community service from the city of Los Angeles in 1981 and was named man of the year by the Orange County Black Business and Professional Men's Association in 1973. He was a member of the King Solomon Baptist Church, Kansas City, Kan. He was born in Shreveport, and lived in California and in Bloomington, before he moved to this area three years ago. Survivors include three daughters, Anna Sharpe, Van Nuys, Wendie Sharpe Williams, New Orleans, and Alexia Sharpe. San Diego; his maternal grandmother, Saide B.

ROBERT W. ADAMS Robert W. Adams. 73, Merriam, died July 19, 1991, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. He was born in Canton.

and moved to this area in 1960. Mr. Adams served in the Army Air Forces the Air Force for 20 years. retiring as a chief master sergeant in 1960. He was a veteran World War II and the Korean War.

RICHARD D. KROGER Richard D. Kroger, 69, east Kansas City, died July 18. 1991, at Research Medical Center. He was born in Schell City, and moved to Kansas City in the early 1940s.

Mr. Kroger was a boiler maintenance worker at Richards-Gebaur Air Force Base, retiring in 1984. He was a member of Local 61 of the Carpenters union. He was a junior warden in the York Rite Masonry and was a scribe in the Royal Arch Masons. Survivors include his wife.
